Inverness or Bust
Two St Paul’s boxers represented Yorkshire against Scotland at the weekend in Inverness.
The team was made up by various Yorkshire boxing clubs.
First up Rio Thomas (13) got the team off to a flying start with a powerful performance against Mattie Rae by stopping him in the second round. It was a very clinical finish.
Next up was Joe Young (13) and Ewan Glinicki the reigning Scottish champion and multi title holder. It was a foul ridden fight with Ewan trying every trick in the book to unsettle Joe, but Joe matched him in all departments and picked him off with powerful shots, picking up a unanimous decision.
Coach Lynden Young said “ it was a superb show and location with Jacobite boxing club making us welcome, the night involved a very hostile crowd and both the lads boxed brilliant, remaining focused throughout. Very brave and mature performances by both”

Guernsey welcomes St Pauls Boxers
Competing in Guernsey we had boxers from St Paul’s Boxing Academy, joining up with colleagues from Rourkeys, Tigers, Barrow, Laisterdyke, Meanwood and Redcar.
Coaches Paul Mays and Jimmy Stephenson made sure our boxers were well looked after during their trip. We understand that it was a bit windy the night of the flight, but they all got there and back safely.
