Two fights over two nights and two victories for St Pauls young gun Shane Smith.

On Friday 4th May Shane boxed a lad from Lister Dyke in Bradford. Shane won on a unanimous decision against a strong opponent whose style is to keep coming forward. Shane showed great footwork, good variation of punches and boxed clever.

The following night, Saturday 5th May Shane was on the road and in the ring just 24 hours after his hard fought victory. This time he was up against a lad from Rourkeys Boxing Club.

Shane won again by unanimous decision after a close first round during which both boxers threw and landed good combinations. In round 2 & 3 Shane pushed his opponent back and really came into his own being the first to land his punches. He showed a lot of heart.

Over the two nights Shane was supported by coaches John Scott, Pauls Mays and Kevin Docwra.

Coach John Scott said “Two great wins on consecutive night’s shows ho0w well Shane is developing. He is a true talent for the future”.

Shanes proud parents were on hand on both nights to cheer him on give him their support.
